Time: it took 2 years, 11 months and 18 days to make the Indian Constitution.

Dr. Rajendra Prasad: He was sworn in as the first President of India on 26 January 1950 at the Durbar Hall of Government House by Dr. Rajendra Prasad.

The chief guest: President Sukarno of Indonesia was the chief guest of India's first Republic Day. 

Republic Day celebrations at Rajpath since 1955: From 1955, the Republic Day celebrations started happening on Rajpath and the army started parading here. 

21 Cannon Salute: The tricolor is hoisted at Rajpath on the occasion of Republic Day. The national anthem is then sung and a 21-gun salute.

Bravery Award: In 1957, the Government launched the National Bravery Award for Children, which is given to children under 16 on Republic Day for bravery in different areas.

Largest written constitution: The Indian constitution is the largest written constitution in the world with 395 articles and 8 schedules.
